Everyone Else is a Returnee by Toika

Since November of last year, I started becoming interested in web novels. I started reading my way through a number of different stories and soon became deeply immersed in this one. Everyone Else is a Returnee is a complete web novel by Toika and the current best web novel I have ever read. I just love the main character's blunt personality and although the novel was 358 chapters long, I enjoyed the long journey of reading and finishing it. I read the web novel at https://www.novelpub.com/novel/everyone-else-is-a-returnee.

Summary
Although the chapters alternate between the perspectives of many of the novel's characters, the plot and most of the story centers around a young man named Yu IlHan. During the start of Yu IlHan's first day at university, the Earth experienced an unprecedented event. A voice, heard by everyone on Earth explained called this event the first Great Cataclysm and warned that terrifying beings would enter humanity's world. It emphasized that humanity needed to get stronger and that it would help them. A second later, time stopped, and the entire human population had disappeared... except Yu IlHan. Since childhood, Yu IlHan had always been a loner. He had the unique ability to completely vanish out of existence unless someone gave him their full attention. Now, he had even hidden from God, who left him on a time-frozen Earth for a millennium instead of a decade with the most irritating angel in existence. Watch as Yu IlHan, the pancosmic loner embarks on a great adventure, battles countless monstrous beings, makes numerous friends and partners, and discovers that even supreme existences are clumsy and have terrible management, as he walks the path of becoming the strongest being.

Review
Unfortunately, since the plot is so long and interwoven, I could only summarize the first bit of the story without giving anything away. Anyway, I really enjoyed this novel. As said before, I love the main character's bluntness and loner personality, in addition to the banter and drama between all the more significant characters in the novel. The novel was really long, but it was never boring to me. Although some spots in the plot were repetitive, another significant detail or plot twist would appear, spicing up the story and revitalizing my interest. Over time, as I progressed through the seemingly endless number of chapters, I soon began to look forward to how Yu IlHan would grow or what supreme being he would insult next. The plot was intricate, the setting was detailed, and the characters were relatable and written exquisitely. This novel covers Yu IlHan's life all the way from elementary school, so it is quite long. However, I almost guarantee you won't regret wasting even just an hour or two trying out this novel. If it does not suit your tastes, then so be it. But, if you like this novel, I highly recommend you consider reading the entire thing because the story only gets better.

  2. Nice Job! I thoroughly enjoyed your last paragraph which was the review of the book. It is clear that the long and intertwined plot of this book is on of the factors that makes it a pleasure to read. This was a really nice book review, and even someone like me, who is not the biggest fan on unrealistic plots, was entertained.
